Battle Artist - Minotaur Noir

This week's theme at Battle Artist is Minotaur.

Wow, it took the long way to get here.

Originally, I planned to do an acylic painting of minotaur running through Pamplona. It was sketched on the canvas board...but, I wasn't sure if I could get it done on time.

I started to do a second piece, where I had the minotaur waiting in the maze for his next victim. I was tired and comically added a cigarette and a bottle.

Finally, I decided to do the best pieces only from the sketch. I used blocks to reenforce the feeling of the walls. I alternated light and dark to create the feeling of time passing. Done. Not much time to spare.

Ink wash, ink brush, and sharpies on vellum paper.
